Fiat Panda 4x4 0.9 TwinAir How to replace the Clutch Slave Cylinder DIY

Описание: Here's how to replace the clutch slave cylinder on a Fiat Panda TwinAir.

Firstly when I did this job the weather was horrendous! Lots of rain and wind but it's been raining for weeks and I needed to get it done!

The car used in the video is a Mark 3 2013 Fiat Panda 4x4 0.9 TwinAir petrol. However this job should be similar (if not identical!) on all Fiat Panda, Fiat 500, Ford Ka and Chrysler/Lancia Ypsilon models with either the 0.9 TwinAir or 1.2 Petrol engines with Manual gearboxes.

A common indicator as to when these parts fail is when there is no or little return on the clutch pedal - ie: the clutch pedal will press to the floor and not return back up! It's worth noting that this can happen for many reasons, including clutch failure, clutch master cylinder failure and commonly on the Fiat 500 models is the joint in the pipe from the master to the slave near the left outer wheel breaks and leaks. The clutch on this car is fine and there was no leak for any joints so the problem was a failed clutch cylinder.

Not a very difficult job to do. If you don't have a brake bleed kit then you will need someone to help you press the clutch pedal to bleed the the air out "old school" like I did. This method works fine and requires a bit patients to make sure all the air is out of the system.

Clutch Slave Cylinder - The original Fiat plastic parts are garbage! They can be refurbished but honestly don't waste your time! The part I used in the video is a Sachs part and the body is made from metal. They cost a little more then the plastic version but are really worth it for the piece of mind. Double check to make sure it's the correct part for you but you can buy it here:

I should ideally provide a link to a brake bleeding kit but as I didn't use one in the video I won't suggest any.
