Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch with the included hand brake. This 2-speed hand winch is ideal for boat trailers. It has a capacity of up to 3700 lbs., and it offers a 2-speed design. So your fast speed lets you pull in the line quickly, and then you also have a lower speed for increased mechanical advantage, really helps out on steep inclines or when you're really pulling in a heavy load.It also offers a neutral or freewill position, which allows you to quickly take the line out from the winch, so that way you can connect your line easily from the winch to your boat with it still in the water, and then crank it up using the included handle. And again, you've got two speeds to chose from.Ratchet pull right here changes the direction of the line pull, really easily. Also, the free spool mode allows the line to extend without the handle rotating. So that's a nice safety feature.
On some winches when you extend the line out, that handle likes to rotate and you have to be cautious of that if you're standing around the winch.Another thing with this, is if you want to do the free spool you can actually just remove the handle completely. You press in on this lock tab here, and you can easily take that off. This is removable. The good feature about that is it allows you to change between the two different speeds quickly and easily.Really nice design, overall it's a very well built winch, very strong heavy duty design, again it does have the included handbrake that lets you manually control the release of your load. And it's a solid one piece drum gear, which eliminates internal corrosion, that lasts a lot longer compared to a riveted drum gear.It also has the Z-Max 600 zinc finish over the steel construction.
That provides superior rust resistance, like we said earlier, this is ideal for boat trailers. So that has a 600 hour salt spray rating. This is designed for use with a cable, not a strap. Cable only. You can find a cable that would work with this winch on our website at etrailer.com, the part number FWC7500100.Now the handle length on this unit, if we take a measurement, basically what we're going to do is do the handle radius. So we're going to take a measurement from about the center of the mounting point to the outer point of our handle, and that's going to give us a measurement of about 10 and 5/8ths inches from the center of where it mounts to the outer edge of the handle. When it comes to the base of this unit, you'll notice that it has elongated holes.
That's a universal mount design, so it is designed to fit most of the winch mounting platforms out there on the market. But this base right here, measures 8 and 1/8th inches long by 7 and 1/8th inches wide. The height measurement, from the bottom of the base to the top of the winch right here is about 7 and 1/4 inches tall. And then I also took a width measurement, from the outer edge, so right here, to the outer edge of the handle connections, and I got a measurement of around 10 inches to 10 and 1/8th inches wide.Gear ratio, 5.1:1 and 12.2:1, depending on what speed you're using. It offers a maximum mechanical advantage of 102:1 and the hub size on this unit is 1 and 3/4 inches in diameter. That's going to do it for today's look at the Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch with the included Handbrake.
