Our dryer stopped heating and my first thought was: “I don’t want to spend my tax refund on a new one!”
Turns out the fix was cheap… but the teardown was something else. The heating element is buried deep inside this Speed Queen, so I show the full disassembly, the parts swap (heating element + temperature sensor + thermal resistor), and the reassembly.
Total time: ~1 hour
Total cost: $35
Cost to replace the dryer: $900
Cost for a repairman: $250+ (if you can get one)
