Time is money and money is time. While the farmers work just begins after the harvest and next years seed has to be prepared, there is usually still a lot of work to do on the now empty field. While the mulch films deliver a high benefit during the time of growth, by providing a stable climate and detaining weeds, they are mostly nothing more than a burden after yielding.
In troublesome handwork the remains of regular films have to be picked up, collected and disposed. A long and expensive procedure, coming back every year.
By using BASF’s certified compostable mulch films, based on the, equally compostable plastic ecovio®, farmers gain multiple advantages. The ecovio® mulch films don’t need to be disposed, but can be ploughed into the soil, where they get naturally decomposed my microorganisms. By this farmers do not only protect our environment by practicing a sustainable agriculture, but they also save themselves a lot of work, time and money.
