In days gone by it was simple enough to use a hot water extraction or solvent machine to clean curtains or drapes. It also used to be simple enough to clean them on-site. But things have changed and today we are more likely to take a different approach.
Due to UV or sun-damage on the back of the curtains we can run into quite a bit of problem if we follow that approach - touching UV or sun-damaged curtains with an extractor machine can cause the backing to crumble. Its for this reason that we don't reccomend cleaning curtains this way on site. Today you will find that a safer method is to remove the curtains and take them down to the dry cleaners.
