International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame chairperson Ned Denison spoke with Darren Miller, an American with a varied extreme sports resume from the Oceans Seven to ultra marathon running. Miller talked about a wide ranging number of topics - from acclimatization of cold water to his "third boat" during his channel crossings in a WOWSA Live interview on December 29th 2021.
Miller was the second man and fourth person overall to achieve the Oceans Seven. He was the first person to achieve the Oceans seven on all his first attempts of the seven channels. He is also the visionary and race director of the 30 km Three Rivers Marathon Swim and was named one of the 101 Movers and Shakers in the Open Water Swimming World in 2013. He won the 2013 Barra Award by members of the Marathon Swimmers Forum.

Ned Denison is Ireland’s most prolific marathon swimmers with 55 epic marathon swims (8 were first ever swims): Triple Crown, Ice Miler, 13 different Prison Island swims and the first to swim around the Great Island and Valentia Island. Even at age 56 he set the male speed record for the S.C.A.R swim (4 marathons in 4 days) which held for 7 years. Ned is internationally recognised: International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame Honoree and Chair of the Executive Committee.
International Swimming Hall of Fame: Irving Davids/Captain Roger W. Wheeler Memorial Award and Poseidon Award (as part of a Cork Committee).
In Ireland he started and led the marathon craze in County Cork now with 160 marathon swimmers. In addition to his early organisational involvement with the Lee Swim and Sandycove Island Challenge, Ned started the Cork Distance Week with 70+ attendees annually since 2009.

Steven Munatones is an American water polo player and competitive pool and open water swimmer from Huntington Beach, California who has spent his life in the open water as an athlete, coach, administrator, writer, race director, kayaker, paddler, official, observer, author, lifeguard, reporter, Olympic commentator, aquapreneur, and adviser in the sport of open water swimming.

Darren Miller is an American motivational speaker, race director, and marathon swimmer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. who became the second man, second American, and fourth person overall to achieve the Oceans Seven. Miller was the first swimmer in history to achieve the feat on all first attempts. Darren Miller was named one of the 101 Movers And Shakers In The Open Water Swimming World by the Daily News of Open Water Swimming for 2013 and received a nomination for the 2013 World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year Award. Miller, along with Sarah Thomas, won the Barra Award in 2013 by voting members of the Marathon Swimmers Forum. He is a founding board member of the U.S. Winter Swimming Association that sanctions the first Winter Swimming Championship in North America and a lifetime member of the Santa Barbara Channel Swimming Association.
