In this vid I show how simple it is to sync both of these samplers.

To midi sync the Roland SP 404 MK2 with the Akai MPC 2000XL, first connect a MIDI cable from the MIDI OUT port on the MPC to the MIDI IN port on the SP 404. Then, go into the MIDI settings on both devices and ensure that they are set to the same MIDI channel. Finally, start playing a sequence on the MPC and the SP 404 should automatically sync to it.
