Let's Paint a Quirky Bird - Introduction to Mixed Media

Описание: This whacky and fanciful bird was created in two main steps - a watercolor background using Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints, and a watercolor pencil layer of doodling embellishment using Derwent Inktense pencils. Finally I added a few touches and tidied it up a bit with a white Uniball Signo gel pen.

I've been working on a lot of colorful abstract and semi-abstract paintings and patterns recently, and this playful bird brings together lots of different ideas from those paintings, as well as building on the #paintabirdaday challenge from last year, where we painted quick, easy, quirky and characterful birds every day to keep the blues away and to loosen up and take a step towards finding our own painting style.
