Tonight at ISPC, we continue Duʿāʾ of the Messenger (ﷺ), our Ramadan Fajr lecture series delivered by Sheikh Saad Slaoui.
“O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly, and no one forgives sins except You. So forgive me with a forgiveness from You, and have mercy on me. Indeed, You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.”
In Episode 7, we reflect on the duʿa of forgiveness, a supplication that teaches us how to return to Allah with honesty, humility, and hope. In this prayer, we admit our shortcomings, recognize that no one forgives sins except Allah, and ask Him for a forgiveness that comes from His mercy alone. It trains the heart to stop making excuses and instead stand before Allah in truth: "I have wronged myself, and I need Your pardon." Through this duʿa, we learn that repentance is not only about regret, but about turning back to Allah with trust in His mercy and confidence in His acceptance.
This duʿa reminds us that forgiveness is one of the greatest doors of closeness to Allah, especially in Ramadan. No matter how heavy our mistakes feel, the way back is always open for the one who asks sincerely. Make this supplication part of your daily routine, after prayer, in sujūd, and in quiet moments, because a heart that seeks forgiveness often is a heart that stays alive, soft, and connected to Allah.
