We've teamed up with LonelyChaser Fansubs to bring you a fully subtitled with a revised translation, 35mm scan of "Patalliro! - Stardust Project".

Patalliro du Malyner VIII is the crown prince of the Diamond producing country of Malynera. Known for being both ugly, mischievous and with a bad personality, he is nonetheless a strong-willed prince and a good son to his father the king. Many enemies of the throne, including the Prime Minister of Malynera himself, are off to get rid of him and take control of the rich nation. Thus, Bancoran, his haughty but extremely handsome bodyguard, is off to protect the obnoxious prince, even from Bancoran's own lover, the extremely beautiful bishounen Mariahi and other bishounen assassins.
A series of diamond robberies have taken place all over the world. When Malynera's reserves are also emptied, Patalliro and Bancoran head to Japan following a clue in the form of a mechanical spider found on the scene.
However, while they're interrogating a suspect, he's assassinated before they manage to get any more information from him than the name of an organization, "Tarantella". Furthermore, the assassin seems to be Bancoran's former lover Bjorn, who's supposed to be dead! Is he really alive and involved in the case? Can our heroes find out more about him and the mysterious organization in time to put a stop to their plans? (Source: ANN, MAL)

The film was acquired by LonelyChaser and scanned it with us in 4K. A few shots, mostly at the beginning and end of each reel, needed heavy restoration, but for the most part it has been untouched, and there is no color correction applied since the colors were already great to begin with. It was then subbed by LonelyChaser using a previously existing translation as a base, improving them significantly for this release. The audio was sourced from the optical sound track on the film itself, since there was no benefit to using any other source since they all use optical film audio anyway.
