I'm boycotting my sister-in-law's baby shower and now my entire family has joined me and she's having a meltdown
I'm thirty-four years old and I've been married to my husband Wyatt for six years now and we have a really close relationship with most of his family except for his younger sister Nina who has always been difficult and dramatic but has gotten significantly worse over the past couple of years. Nina is twenty-nine years old and she recently announced that she's pregnant with her first child after being married to her husband Carson for about eighteen months, and while I was initially happy for her the way she's been acting since the pregnancy announcement has made me seriously reconsider whether I want to be involved in this part of her life at all.
Wyatt and I have been trying to have a baby for the past four years without success and we've been through multiple rounds of fertility treatments including IVF that have been physically exhausting, emotionally draining, and financially devastating. We've spent over forty thousand dollars on treatments and procedures and medications and we've had three miscarriages in the process which have been absolutely heartbreaking each time. After the third miscarriage about geven months ago we decided to take a break from treatments and focus on healing emotionally and physically before deciding whether to try again or pursue other options like adoption.
