The Determine HIV-1/2 Ag/Ab Combo is a rapid point-of-care test that can detect HIV-1 and HIV-2 in human blood samples. Here are some things to know about using the kit:

Sample type: The test can be used with human serum, plasma, capillary (fingerstick) whole blood, or venipuncture (venous) whole blood.

Procedure: The test has a one-step procedure for serum or plasma, and a two-step procedure for whole blood.

Results: The test provides clear results in 20 minutes.

Controls: The kit includes four vials of controls: HIV-1 Reactive Control, HIV-2 Reactive Control, HIV-1 p24 Antigen Control, and Nonreactive Control.

Workstation: The test can be performed using a workstation, or on a clean, flat surface.
