The Xotic SP Compressor is way my favourite compressor so far.
This pedal is based on a classic compressor from the 70's: the legendary Ross Compressor .
The Ross Compressor was similar to the Dyna Comp with a warm sounding compression and they were a bit noisy.
The SP Compressor takes that idea and improves the original, removing the noise and adding a blend control. The parallel compression allows you to choose the amount of dry signal to preserve the natural attack of your pickings, also allowing wider dynamics.
It's very versatile, it can be set for vintage, subtle or modern compression, it's capable of up to +15dB of boost and it features an internal dip switch for attack control.
