In this session, we dive into the new POPs operator in TouchDesigner and build a very simple setup for point cloud animation. I’ll share with you how to use Particle POP to emit points from a point-cloud object, creating a left-to-right scanning motion. This scanning effect feels like the object is slowly revealing itself in slices, which gives the animation a really nice sense of progression. On top of that, we generate dynamic lines that connect nearby emitted points. We’ll also go through simple ways to stylize the lines and add color accents to push the aesthetic a bit further.
