One of the few remaining Federal Signal Thunderbolts in the suburbs of Chicago! A couple of inconveniences occurred during this test, one being that my primary camera crashed about 15 seconds in, the other being that the siren tested around 3 minutes early!
I believe that they stagger the testing of the old sirens and the new sirens, as later in the video you can hear all of the more modern sirens activating in the distance after the Thunderbolt winds down.
Unfortunately, the earlier test time meant that I missed the first couple of seconds of the test on my backup camera, but by combining all the different sets of footage I got, I managed to piece together a complete recording!
Cook County tests its sirens on the first Tuesday of the month at 10:00 AM, with the older sirens being tested a few minutes prior.
This siren is located in Niles village at the Grennan Heights Tennis Courts on Kedzie St.
