It's been more than 50 years since we amended the constitution using the normal process. Right now, a proposed constitutional amendment limiting the president’s power to pardon people is making its way through congress. This has drawn some news coverage because the presidential pardon power has come under bipartisan criticism lately. Republicans of course were upset with President Biden pardoning his son Hunter Biden, and Democrats have criticized Trump both for his pardons of prominent political allies, and his pardons of the Trump supporters who attacked the US capitol on January 6th, 2021.
