#clubfoot also known as talipes equinovarus, is a congenital condition where a baby's foot is twisted inward and downward.

Non-surgical treatment methods, also known as conservative or non-operative methods, are often the first line of intervention for clubfoot. These methods aim to gradually correct the deformity without the need for surgery. The most common non-surgical treatment for clubfoot is the Ponseti method. Here are the key components of the Ponseti method:

Manipulation and Casting:

The foot is gently manipulated to correct its position.
A cast is applied to maintain the corrected position. The cast is changed approximately every week during the correction phase.
Achilles Tendon Tenotomy:

In some cases, a minor surgical procedure called Achilles tendon tenotomy may be performed to release the tight Achilles tendon, allowing further correction of the foot.

Bracing:

After the correction phase, the child is fitted with special braces (usually Denis-Browne bar with shoes attached) to maintain the corrected position and prevent relapse.
Bracing is usually necessary for a few years, especially during the night.
