Dubai Airport Terminal 1 is a well‑connected, modern terminal filled with amenities, lounges, shopping, and comfort services. With efficient layout, shuttle access to boarding concourse, and a variety of rest and relaxation options, it’s ideal for both economy and premium travelers.

It comprises three levels:
• Level 1: Departures, airline and self-service check-in counters (~221 desks), food court, shops, Wi‑Fi access  
• Level 2: Arrivals, baggage claim, porter assistance   
• Level 3: Passenger services, concessions, business facilities  
• A driverless Automated People Mover (APM) links the main terminal to Concourse D (about 1.5 km), where all boarding gates are located. 

Terminal 1 offers comprehensive traveler support:
• Free Wi‑Fi throughout (connect via “DXB Free WiFi” or “DWC Free WiFi”)  
• ATMs, currency exchangers, and business centre (inside on‑site airport hotel) with office and concierge facilities.  
• Baggage storage service (approx. AED 40–50 per 12 hours).  
• Prayer rooms for both men and women, and designated smoking lounges (e.g. near Gate D12).  
• Baby care rooms, porter assistance, wheelchair and special needs support available.  
• Medical centre and pharmacies operate 24/7. 

Al Ahlan Business Class Lounge:

The Business class and the First Class lounge are located in Dubai Airport Terminal 1, Concourse D (Inside Security), on the first floor, together with all the other lounges.

You can enter these lounge for free with the Priority Pass and mastercard. I used my mastercard to access the Ahlan business lounge.

There are plenty of seating options, from couches, to normal chairs with tables over to relaxing seats. The lounge offers free Wi-Fi, a little workspace, showers and a spa service (for a fee) which we didn’t use. Enough toilets were available.
