What is graphene paint? Graphene paint is similar to other types of traditional paint. Paint is just one of a number of protective coatings which utilise graphene's impermeability to harmful substances in order to protect the material underneath. Coating the hull of a ship for example, could make it impervious to rust.
Looking ahead there is the possibility of adding conductive graphene paint to rooftops as a way of conducting energy and power the home.
Narrated by Professor Ian Kinloch, a lecturer in Materials Science School of Materials. His research focuses on Polymeric and carbon (graphene and nanotubes) and related nanomaterials.
