The accounting and tax profession is no stranger to technology disruption ever since the invention of the abacus and the adding machine. Will AI spell doom for the profession or hail its resurrection? Join us as we delve into the impact AI and emerging tech have on accountants and whether we’ll ever get real time and predictive access into the true state of companies’ financials. The panel session will look at:
1. Why accounting and tax matters?
2. The drivers for change and disruptive forces impacting the tax and accounting industry. What impact does AI and emerging tech have on individual tax payers, businesses, government, universities and society as a whole?
3. Are accountants and tax practitioners a dying breed? Will we be replaced by robots? What does the workforce of the future look like?
4. Innovate or die. What are some best in class examples of partnerships and collaborations between start-up, universities, government and business?
5. Why bother? What’s the benefit of doing this? What’s the size of the prize?
6. What excites the panelists about working in this industry at this time of rapid change? What is yet to come?
