A Bentonite liner is a Geosynthetic membrane made of bentonite clay, a natural product, making it a very environmentally suited choice for a liner.
They are quick and easy to install with no need for welding or taping on-site, which also means there is no need for specialist equipment or personnel for its installation.
Bentonite liners are very versatile, they have excellent slope stability and can be installed easily even in remote areas.
Once the product is hydrated and confined under the required minimum of 300mm cover material, the liner fosters ‘Self-healing’ properties. If the liner is then penetrated, the sodium bentonite swells around the puncture and creates a seal, healing itself.
Bentonite liners also have high chemical and climate resistance and resistance to different settlements.
