Описание: Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope are two iconic landmarks located within Table Mountain National Park on the southwestern tip of the Cape Peninsula in South Africa. Cape Point is a rugged promontory marked by steep cliffs and a historic lighthouse perched high above the ocean. It offers panoramic views of the Atlantic and False Bay, and is known for its dramatic coastal landscape and diverse flora, part of the Cape Floral Region World Heritage Site. The Cape of Good Hope lies slightly west of Cape Point and is historically significant as a landmark for early explorers. First named the Cape of Storms by Bartolomeu Dias in 1488, it was later renamed by King John II of Portugal. Sir Francis Drake famously described it as “the fairest cape in all the world”. Both sites are home to wildlife such as eland, bontebok, red hartebeest, and zebra. Visitors can enjoy scenic hiking trails, beaches, and the Buffelsfontein Visitor Centre, which showcases seasonal flora and fauna.
