Turtle Island Sandakan
Turtle Island can be reached by boat from the Sabah Parks boat jetty in Sandakan.
From the Jetty it is a 45 minute boat ride to Selingan Island.
The Island hosts one of the oldest turtle hatcheries in the world and is one of South East Asia's most important nesting beach and breeding ground for the Green Turtle and Hawksbill Turtle,
*The best time to visit Selingan turtle Island is between July and October when the sea conditions are calmer and the number of turtle landings is higher.
From November to February the seas are rougher but it is still possible to visit the island.
-The Accommodation
There is chalet-style accommodation on the island. Travel to the turtle islands is usually done as package with the standard trip being a two day, one night tour including transport, room and meals.
During the day on your visit, you're free to do activities at the beach, such as roaming, sunbathing, swimming or snorkeling in the sea.
Note: The beach closes at 5PM.
