Welcome to Salt and Sanctuary, the side-scrolling action RPG by indie game developer Ska Studios.

The Tree of Men is a very vertical boss fight, as in the room is tall and narrow. Most of the attacks are fire-based so good fire defense is recommended. You will endure a lot of fall damage so watch your health.

There are fire traps along both sides of the boss room. They have a short tell before they spew fire. Either jump up or down a level when you see the tell and you should avoid the flame spray.

Some of the platforms in the room will fall after a few seconds of contact. They will respawn after a few seconds once you knock them down.

The floor is open on the far sides of the room, and a fall from there will kill you. Try not to spend too much time on the floor of the room because The Tree of Men has a stomp attack that will knock you off the ledge: one hot kill.

In the first part of the fight you can only damage the burning men hanging from the tree. You will need to climb the platforms to either side of the boss room and do jumping attacks to kill them. Fall damage can be a factor here so be prepared.

After you kill the hanging guys The Tree of Men's head will light up. This is the new vulnerable spot. He gains more attacks but still moves rather slowly. Climbing the platforms to either side and using your jump attacks is still the best method but fall damage becomes even more of a problem. If you strike the tree a few times a reserve your last swing to use just before you hit the ground you will completely negate all fall damage.
