Trim Your Split Ends!

This means that it has to be taken good care of, and that growing long healthy hair is a long process which requires a lot of patience.

Trimming your hair by cutting off the split ends is extremely important. As long as you do this as often as you need to, it will most likely not be more than 1 inch (2.5 cm.).
How long time it will take before you will need to trim your split ends, varies from person to person, and 2-6 months is the most normal time that it will take for a person to get split ends.

Trimming your split ends is great, both for maintaining your length or for growing it longer.
If you're growing your hair longer, remember to not trim more than necessary, so that the hair can grow more than it is being cut. This is very self explanatory.
If you want to keep your hair at one length (for example ankle length), you can trim a bit more than needed, to make sure that it won't grow any longer, as well as keeping it very healthy all the time.

If you do not trim your hair, and only let it grow and grow and grow, your split ends will split further and further upwards, until your hair is so damaged that you might have to cut off a huge part of it, when it would really only be necessary to cut off an inch - if you had trimmed it when needed.
Do NOT underestimate or forget trimming!

You should ONLY get your hair trimmed by someone professional, and you should really trust them.
Some people might want to trim/cut more than you ask for, so watch out!
