AP launches QR‑enabled smart ration cards! Apply via MeeSeva or wards, check status in one click—transparency on the move. Andhra Pradesh has launched smart ration cards—featuring QR codes, state emblem, and family head photo—for over 1.45 crore households, beginning August 25, 2025. This upgrade, envisioned by CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, emphasizes transparency, accountability, and streamlined distribution.

Applications for both new cards and modifications (adding/removing family members, address changes, splitting, surrendering) are being accepted through village and ward secretariats and soon via WhatsApp governance. Beneficiaries can also apply online via the MeeSeva portal, filling in family details and required documentation. The EPDS platform allows the issuance and management of e‑Ration Cards, with status check available using the application number or Aadhaar—all accessible in just one click.
