Christmas (Please Come Home)/Darlene Love bass & vocal by Cara
This title sounds like the Eagles/Charles Brown song but it's a completely different one. Very easy on bass, challenging to sing! David Letterman used to have Ms. Love come on his show every year from 1994-2014 to sing this with the band, always a highlight (I am told, he quit when I was 1) but I've seen videos.
According to music lore, this was written for the producer, Phil Specter's, wife Ronnie Specter but either 1. she didn't show for the session or 2. he didn't think she was singing with enough emotion and Phill plucked backing vocalist Darlene Love out of the chorus and she became a star. So they say.
