Oura Ring Without Subscription? Don't Bother!

So here's what you need to know about using an Oura Ring without subscription:

✅ I've used an Oura Ring for many years now. Now we're up to the third generation Oura Ring, or Oura Ring 3. The question, however, is whether you need an Oura Ring subscription or whether you can use an Oura Ring without subscription. Today I'll answer that question
✅ You now need $7 USD per month to access the more advanced features
✅ I upgraded from the generation 2 to the generation 3 ring, and a promo offer was going around. I got a lifetime membership during that promo, so technically I don't have to pay. I ordered through the wrong e-mail though and it was a bit messy
✅ Then, everyone got a six-month subscription for free. I used that subscription and that time has come around. Without the premium plan, the Oura Ring features are minimal.
✅ You only see three numbers, the readiness score, sleep score, and activity score. It's really crazy how little information you get without an Oura Ring subscription. You don't even see any historical data, such as your numbers of yesterday - the data is gone forever. And if you forget to sync a day, you cannot even see the data from the previous day
✅ I can't even see more data on sleep, for instance, but I can't. I can't see anything other than the three readings I gave before. Other data you can see are the airplane mode and settings, but, that's not actionable for health goals. I couldn't believe how little data is available without an Oura Ring subscription. You can still access the meditation and breathing exercises too though
✅ The meditation and breathing exercises are just sound clips though, and you can go onto YouTube and find similar content. So the breathing and meditation exercises that have been added aren't very valuable either!
✅ And, lastly, the learn function is also available in the app, but, that's just information
✅ My conclusion is that everyone who gets an Oura Ring generation three will have to go on a subscription or membership plan. There's no good value offered by an Oura ring without subscription. It's crazy and I can't believe it but it is what it is
✅ I double-checked my conclusion by going to the Oura website - they admit on their website that you cannot see much without a subscription. So you don't just spend $300 to see three daily scores
✅ Anyone buying an Oura Ring gets 6 months worth of premium membership for free though, but after that period you'll need to pay $7 a month. This way, you get a taste of the premium features but will eventually lose them all unless you pay
✅ Other companies use this approach as well, but, offer more options without subscription. You therefore have to spend the $7 a month next to the $300 after six months to get a useful product
