In this video, Co-founder and Co-Executive Director Sarah Tindall walks us through how to get the most out of her warm-up!
Tip 1: Journal. Write down goals as well as connections you make in the practice room. Journaling increases awareness so you can connect the dots between events and different tendencies in your practice. This should happen throughout your practice so that you have a more holistic view of your tendencies.
Tip 2: Start with the basics so you can concentrate on falling in love with your instrument and exploring for that day in preparation for the harder things later on in your practice.
Tip 3: 5 minute scales (long tones). Play the most basic scale in whole notes at 50bpm, incorporating your breath to increase awareness and write down your tendencies based on that scale. Any type of long tones or basic exercises will also work; find what works best for you!
