Most people know about the yak and the polo that is played on it, but those who do not know should know that the yak is a strong and large animal like an ox or a cow that is found in Pakistan at an altitude of 13,000 feet above sea level. It is found in the Brugel Valley between the extremely cold and snow-capped peaks of Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan. This animal meets the nutritional needs of the local population such as milk, butter, and meat and they also play polo on this heavy and strong body animal.
Brugal is 250 km from Chitral, but the road is uneven, rough, and rocky, so the distance is 16 to 18 hours. Those who have been to the Shandor Polo Festival will know that the road from Chitral Tehsil's Mastuja Bazaar leads north to Shandor and west to Brugal, with apple orchards, noisy rivers, beautiful lakes, and Snow-capped peaks reduce fatigue.
Yak polo lasts forty minutes, the first half lasts thirty minutes. It turns out that there is a difference between a yak and a horse polo. The yak is a slow-moving animal and its ride is dangerous. We were told that yak polo is not played anywhere in the world except Brugel for which yak is also given special training. Raising and rearing this animal requires hard work. We collect and store hay for them in summer, which fills their stomachs in cold weather.

We are from Gujarat. It was a very difficult track. We had planned to see this festival in Bruges a long time ago and planned to go to Lake Berumbar. We are watching this game for the first time here. Never seen it on TV. It's a different game that is fun to watch.

This is a remote area, yet last and this year also a significant number of tourists have come here, dancing here in joy, polo is being played, football is also being played. The highlight here is the arrangement of yak polo at an altitude of 12,000 feet, which is the only sport of its kind in the world.
Formerly the locals used to play yak polo on the slopes of the mountains and often the ball would fall into the river, their yaks were also injured, here the yaks are dead, now a playing field has been made and fences are all-around These people and animals have become safer.
