Bunch Defense - Pentagon - Also, Sort and Steal Coverage. The whys.

My earlier video about a month ago went into playing SORT vs the Bunch. To into that check, theoretically, you could call cover 2 zone or cover 9. I use cover 9. But in both instances, you have to user the middle player and match the final number 3 from the bunch.

This video gets into Cover 9 against bunch and how it plays a 5 over 3 concept . . . hence pentagon. But I wanted to get into STEAL coverage to showcase how we can utilize a different alignment when playing these backside steal type coverages and even when we are playing Sort.

Reason why I play cover 9 as opposed to cover 2 when I'm going to sort the bunch, is because I can jump between playing Sort/Pentagon depending on game situation while on the field, and of course while in Sort, we keep a true 3 over 2 numerical advantage on the backside. Same thing havens in cover 2 if you sort the bunch, but I like the matching principles on the backside in cover 9 which allows us to do cool things with the safety and corner.
