Описание: Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.

This is a amateur reconstruction and should not be regarded as definitive.

Latin is an ancient Italic language that was originally spoken in the region of Latium, where the city of Rome is located. It became the dominant language of the Roman Republic and later the Roman Empire, serving as the lingua franca across vast territories in Europe, North Africa, and parts of the Middle East during classical antiquity. Latin profoundly influenced the development of the Romance languages—such as Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanian—which evolved directly from its vernacular forms. Moreover, Latin has significantly impacted the vocabulary and grammar of many other languages, including English, especially in fields like law, science, medicine, and theology. Although Latin is considered a "dead" language in terms of native speakers, it remains in use today within the Roman Catholic Church, academic scholarship, and legal terminology, continuing to be studied for its historical importance and rich literary tradition.

Etruscan was an ancient language spoken and written by the Etruscan civilization in the region of Etruria, corresponding to modern-day Tuscany, western Umbria, and northern Lazio in Italy, from approximately the 8th century BCE until it was gradually supplanted by Latin by the 1st century BCE. It is a non-Indo-European language that remains only partially understood due to the scarcity of extensive bilingual texts and the limited number of surviving inscriptions. The Etruscans adapted their alphabet from a variant of the Greek script, and their writings are primarily found on funerary monuments, tomb inscriptions, religious dedications, and various artifacts like mirrors and pottery. While scholars have deciphered the Etruscan script and identified some vocabulary and grammatical structures, much of the language's syntax and lexicon remain a mystery, making it a subject of ongoing research and fascination in the fields of linguistics and ancient history.
