In this video, Professor John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy shows you how to quickly make hollow forms using a die. You can use this versatile technique to create all sorts of forms including beads, vessels and containers.

A fun aspect to this process is making the die. You can cut a die from a variety of materials. In this video the die is cut from a piece of MDF.
Safety precautions must be taken whenever you solder a hollow form shut. One of the most important is making sure that there is a hole through your piece. This hole helps to prevent the object from exploding by allowing internal pressure to equalize during the soldering process.
