Cadfil Vessel Design (COPV) - Part 1 of 2
Cadfil 9.91 includes the release of the new options for pressure vessels. This has an integrated and automated approach to complete design and analysis for Composite Pressure Vessels (COPVs). Multiple layers of winding at low intermediate and high (hoop) angles can be quickly created with automatic or manual pattern selection and automatic thickness updating. Layers can be added, inserted, repeated or deleted quickly and easily. At any stage the winding for individual layers or the complete winding can be viewed or analysed with a couple of clicks. CAD is be generated for the cumulative layer thickness profiles which can be viewed in a 3D pop-up. At any stage FEA models for the chosen system can be created for analysis in a range of standard commercial FEA systems or the free Calculix system. At the final stage after the design is complete there is an largely automated process for adding joining paths where needed and the complete winding is submitted to the Cadfil post processor to generate the motion programs for the chosen winding machines.
