Using iOS Shortcuts to send MQTT messages via SSH. Example w Roborock S55 (more info in description)

Описание: Why use iOS Shortcuts?
iOS Shortcuts are great because you can launch them
with the lock screen widget (as shown in the video)
with NFC
by asking Siri or
automatically based on: time, location, Bluetooth or WiFi, CarPlay status etc...

You can also add a shortcut directly to your Home screen and Shortcuts now integrate with HomeKit automations.

Why use SSH?
independence from external cloud solutions (no fee, no limitations)
faster response times
easier than setting up your own secure web service
you may already be using SSH for other things in which case it is already set up and ready

Using SSH securely:
Logging in via username and password is fine for local access, but do not use standard username and password.

iOS Shortcuts now support SSH keys which is recommended, especially if you want to access your computer via SSH over the internet. Please check out these guides on using SSH securely:

Understanding the robot vacuum shortcut example:
On my Raspberry Pi 3 Model B I have set up a flow in Node-RED which receives the MQTT messages and translates them into commands that my robot vacuum understands. This flow is not the topic of the above video, which simply shows how to send MQTT messages via SSH with iOS Shortcuts.
