Spinal compression fracture on X-ray

Описание: A spinal compression fracture occurs when one or more vertebrae in the spine collapse or fracture. These are common fractures of the spine that are often diagnosed on radiographs.
The normal radiographic appearance of the vertebral bodies is square without loss of vertebral body height.
An acute compression fracture can present with loss of vertebral body height, step-defect and zone of condensation.
A chronic compression fracture can present with a loss of vertebral body height and associated degenerative changes.
