(4 Jun 2015) A brigade of Ukrainian soldiers was on the move on Thursday, after heavy fighting erupted in the Donetsk suburb of Marinka the day before.
The fighting on the outskirts of the main separatist stronghold on Wednesday was the most severe in months.
Hostilities initially tapered off after a cease-fire (Minsk agreement) was called in February but has generally been violated.
Ukrainian officials said five servicemen were killed on Wednesday, four of them in or around Marinka.
Late Wednesday, the Minister of Defence for the self styled Donetsk People's Republic, Eduard Basurin, said 14 rebels and five civilians had been killed by Ukrainian fire during the day, but didn't specify locations.
