The Fujikawa Maru is widely considered the crown jewel of Truk Lagoon's shipwrecks. Built in 1938 as a cargo liner, she was requisitioned by the Japanese Navy and eventually sunk by American torpedoes during 1944’s Operation Hailstone.
Sitting upright in the water, she is a world-class dive site. Key highlights include the fuselage of Zero fighter planes located in the cargo holds, a massive 6-inch bow gun, and the accessible engine room. The wreck is encrusted with vibrant soft corals, creating a stunning mix of WWII history and marine life.
