Welcome back to our series on Test Doubles! I'm your Coding Coach, and in this video, we'll dive into the world of Spies. We'll show you exactly how to implement a Spy from scratch in PHP, giving you the control you need to test your code confidently.
A Spy is a type of Test Double that records information about how it's used. This is incredibly useful for verifying that your code is behaving as expected, such as checking if a method was called or how many times it was called. We'll be using PHPUnit to drive our development.
