A common challenge in parametric modeling is maintaining a constant wall thickness when changing the outside diameter (OD) of a cylinder. By default, SpaceClaim does not provide direct equation-based parameter linking between dimensions such as OD and inside diameter (ID).
In this video, we show a simple and robust scripting approach that allows you to link the inner and outer diameters, so modifying a single parameter automatically updates the geometry while preserving the wall thickness.
This method is especially useful for:
Parametric studies
CFD geometry preparation
Design optimization workflows
Reusable and robust CAD models
This tutorial is part of the ANSYS Fluent Q&A playlist, where we answer practical questions related to SpaceClaim, Fluent Meshing, and CFD-focused geometry modeling.
