This video was filmed before I went on placement. I can confirm that the backpack was definitely a good idea, the helmet carried separate worked well and it clipped onto a spare seat or onto the strap on my bag so didn't get in the way on shift.
In regards to the tuff case for my portfolio, I dropped it and a corner smashed off so if you are getting one, I don't recommend dropping it 😂
Also, half way through placement I got an insulated lunchbox which helped a lot and still fitted in my bag.
Here is everything I take to shift with me on placement to give you some ideas.
I am taking my helmet separate this year hence why it wasn't in this video. But yes as student paramedics we have to carry a helmet and hi-vis in our personal kits on every shift.
