This can be caused by certain health conditions, disease processes, or outside environmental factors. Although I do sometimes treat PIH with lasers, I oftentimes like to use various lightening creams to achieve drastic results. This can be both safer and more cost-effective. In this patient who was experiencing PIH from friction, we were able to return her color back to normal in 60 days through the use of my at-home proprietary bleaching regimen.
