Clementine charges forward from cover and slams into Lilly, knocking the gun out of her hand and sending both of them to the ground. Clementine appears to injure her own leg in the process, slowing her enough that Lilly manages to toss her back when she goes for the gun. Lilly mounts Clementine and alternates between strangling and punching her, but AJ comes to her rescue. Clementine draws her knife after the two of them are separated and- despite coming very close- fails to stab the older woman in the neck due to Lilly's superior strength. Lilly punishes Clementine, complaining that she was "such a fucking waste" as she strangles Clementine against the railing of the ship. AJ steps in again, taking the knife and plunging it into Lilly's right leg just above the knee.

Lilly manages to kick AJ and send him to the ground, but the weakness is enough for Clementine to twist the knife using her foot. Both of them tumble to the ground and go for the gun, but AJ gets to it first, somberly raising it on Lilly. Knowing that she could not offer any fight with the knife in her leg and AJ too far out of reach, Lilly raises one of her hands briefly and announces her surrender. She pledges that she and the rest of the Delta would leave and never return to try to take them in exchange for mercy. James tosses the other raider to the ground and her rifle off the side of the ship and into the water below, then turns to AJ and pleads with him not to kill Lilly after she had surrendered. AJ brings up what had happened in the cells below and keeps his gun on Lilly. Clementine painfully pulls herself back to her feet against the railing, watching on as Tennessee argues that Lilly was lying and James steps forward to take the gun. AJ looks to Clementine for the answer on what to do with Lilly.

Clementine yells "Do it, AJ!" He quickly turns back to Lilly and shoots her in the head, ending her life instantly. James is left in shock that AJ could so casually kill another person, then shouts for him to stop when he fires several more bullets into Lilly's corpse. AJ takes a breath and lowers the gun, still looking at Lilly's dead body. James stares at Clementine for a moment before another raider comes to report to Lilly that the other children were still missing. Seeing her leader dead, the raider raises her rifle on Clementine. Before she could shoot, however, the ship rumbles, the boiler having been activated.
