At the conclusion of episode 5, the day of the Ludi Apollinares finally arrives, and it starts with a battle between the soldiers of Ashur and Proculus. The gladiators from the rival ludus, Harbelex and Boriatis, would face off against Celadus and Tarchon in this round. The competition's basic rule is that the last fighter standing at the end of each round will win, thus after a long battle between the two sides, the father and son finally defeat the opponents, who are immediately slain.

When Achillia's time to perform finally arrives, she must once more endure mockery and humiliation from the audience, who all think she won't be able to compete with any male fighter and will undoubtedly perish very soon.

Achillia is still optimistic that she can succeed in the battle for which she has been training for the past few weeks. In a surprising turn of events, though, it is revealed that she will face regular gladiator Ammonius rather than the Ferox Brothers.
Gabinius and his wife, Cossutia, had both advocated for this roster change since they believed Achillia would not be able to compete with the three brothers on her own. Achillia must exercise extra caution due to Ammonius' enormous stature, which might quickly overwhelm her, even if battling a single opponent rather than three is simpler in this scenario. She uses her quickness to make some strong moves, but her opponent eventually corners her, and it appears that he will kill her shortly.
However, Achillia appears to find motivation in her past—a traumatic event that we are still unaware of—to pull herself together and persevere to the very end. She wins her first combat in the gladiator arena by using her remaining energy to make a vital move just as Ammonius tries to kill her. She valiantly pushes her sword into the opponent gladiator's buttocks. People are ecstatic at what they have witnessed, and the arena erupts in applause for Achillia, who up until now had been despised and mocked.
She undoubtedly gives the House of Ashur honor and glory, but at the conclusion of the episode, she is seen fainting and collapsing to the ground, indicating that she may not be fully recovered from the protracted and difficult conflict. In the upcoming episode of Spartacus: House of Ashur, it will be intriguing to see what happens to Achillia, particularly if Tarchon attempts to carry out his scheme to kill her in order to become the house champion.
