The PCB motherboard shredding and sorting line plays a crucial role in the process of electronic waste disposal. This specialized processing line is designed to separate the metal and non-metal materials from waste printed circuit boards (PCBs) to facilitate the effective reuse of resources.
Clean motherboards usually undergo initial shredding, often using a dual-shaft shredder. After the preliminary shredding, the fragments enter the fine crushing stage, where further crushing equipment is employed to break down the shredded motherboards into smaller pieces. Subsequently, a pulverizer is used to refine the crushed motherboards to a particle size suitable for sorting.
Next, the heavier metal materials (such as copper) are separated from the lighter non-metal materials (such as glass fiber and epoxy resin) based on the difference in gravity. However, after grinding, some metal materials may also be ground into powder and mixed with the waste metal materials. In such cases, electrostatic separation equipment is typically employed to separate the metal and non-metal components from the mixed materials, maximizing the sorting and recovery rates. Following the sorting process, the metal and non-metal materials are collected separately for further processing.
