The Hydrow Wave Rower is a new rower from Hydrow. It’s more compact and affordable than the original Hydrow Rower, plus it offers the same subscription workout content.

The Hydrow Wave can be stored upright with a wall anchor that is sold at a separate price. The has 2 transportation wheels for moving and is lightweight at 102 lbs. This makes moving the Wave and storing it upright, pretty easy.

The frame is made out of a thermoplastic polymer, which is stable and durable. The stainless steel monorail is just as smooth and stable as the original Hydrow, too.

For comfortability, we really like the handle and seat. The seat is the same as on the premium model. It has nice cushioning and contouring. The handle is almost identical to the original, but has a smooth, grippy texture. The footboards and pedals accommodate most foot sizes and adjust to work with any type of athletic shoe. They’re straightforward to adjust and the straps hold your feet securely in place while you row.

The Hydrow Wave Rower is very quiet to use. The magnetic resistance is adjustable via a drag factor on the touch screen. This offers a wide range of tension that is appropriate for users of all abilities. The belt also makes the rower very quiet and smooth to use. The belt maintains tension throughout the entire stroke, as well.

A big factor that contributes to the overall rowing experience on the Hydrow Wave, is the subscription content. It does require a monthly fee to access the library of classes, but it is worth it. Hydrow’s classes are primarily filmed outdoors. Each class is led by a rowing expert as they row in a rowing shell. Every class has a curated playlist of music too.

And if you don’t want to follow along with an instructor, the Journeys allow you to row on your own while exploring outdoor locations.

Overall, we are very impressed with the Hydrow Wave and feel that it is a comparable, yet more compact and affordable option to the Hydrow Rower. We are thrilled to have another rower option from Hydrow.
