The team from Our Lady of Apostles Grammar Secondary School proposes the EcoSmart Bin, an automated waste management system designed to simplify recycling. Using ultrasonic sensors and LED indicators, the bin guides users to the correct compartment recyclables, organic, or general waste and utilizes servo motors to open the lids automatically. Beyond sorting, the bin will track usage data to analyze school-wide waste patterns.
The objective is to promote environmental literacy and proper waste segregation through a tech-enhanced, user-friendly solution that builds student skills in robotics and data tracking.
