Who is HSY?

Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, widely known as HSY, is one of Pakistan’s most prominent fashion designers, television hosts, and actors. Born on 26 October 1976 into an Arain family with a political background, his father Mian Hamid Yasin served as chief whip in the government of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Following his parents’ separation during his early childhood, HSY was raised partly in the United States, where his mother relocated, and he completed his early education in New York. He later pursued formal training in fashion and graduated as salutatorian from the Pakistan School of Fashion Design (Class of 2000), also gaining affiliation with La Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in France.
HSY began his career in 1994 as a fashion choreographer, working across Pakistan and internationally in cities such as Dubai, London, New York, and Toronto. In 2000, he launched his own fashion label HSY, which quickly evolved into one of Pakistan’s leading couture houses, specializing in bridal and formal wear, and expanding internationally with multiple outlets, including its flagship store in Lahore. Over the years, the brand has grown significantly, employing hundreds of professionals and establishing itself as a key name in South Asian fashion.
Beyond design, HSY has also made a mark in media as the host of the prime-time talk show Tonite with HSY on Hum Sitaray. His influence in fashion and culture has earned him multiple national and industry honors, including several Lux Style Awards, Pakistan International Screen Awards, and ARY People’s Choice Awards. He has also served on significant committees, including the Oscars 2020 selection committee for Pakistan’s submission in the Best International Feature Film category, and was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for NOWPDP in 2021.
