Описание: Given the recent occurrences of disasters and hazards in various areas of the country, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation consciousness and awareness are considered a priority in the policy agenda of the government. Various programs and projects related to DRRM are ongoing in the local government units which are the basic entities that need to respond to vulnerabilities to disasters and hazards. This four part video lecture aims to increase awareness in the youth and lessen the impact of disasters that threaten human life.

The lecturer for this video series is Mr. Jose Abraham C. Ongkiko. He currently serves as a Project Manager under the Institution Building Division of the UP Resilience Institute. He is an active volunteer and the former National Manager of the Volunteer Services Office of the Philippine Red Cross. He also became the Disaster Risk Management Manager at Plan International - Philippines. He is also a member of the UP Vanguard Class of 1982. Mr. Ongkiko is an experienced professional and volunteer in emergencies and disaster response, with almost 30 years of experience in disaster management and community development field.
