Are you fasting… but afraid it might not be accepted by Allah?
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ warned that some people gain nothing from their fast except hunger and thirst. This is not about how many hours we abstain from food. It is about sincerity, taqwa, and the state of the heart.
In this video, I speak as a Muslim woman reminding myself first — and then you — about three dangerous reasons why a fast in Ramadan may be rejected:
1️⃣ Lack of sincerity (niyyah)
2️⃣ Sins of the tongue and behavior
3️⃣ Persisting in major sins without tawbah
We reflect on authentic hadith and Qur’anic verses that remind us that Allah accepts only what is done purely for Him, and that fasting is not just physical restraint — it is spiritual discipline.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever does not abandon false speech and acting upon it, Allah has no need of him abandoning his food and drink.” (Bukhari 1903)
And he ﷺ also said:
“Whoever fasts Ramadan with faith and seeking reward will have his previous sins forgiven.” (Bukhari 38; Muslim 760)
The difference is sincerity. The difference is taqwa. The difference is the condition of the heart.
This Ramadan, do not focus only on surviving the day without food. Focus on whether your fast will stand as proof for you — or against you — on the Day of Judgment.
If this reminder benefits you, save it and revisit it before Ramadan begins. Acceptance is not automatic. It is earned through sincerity, repentance, and fear of Allah.
May Allah make our fasting sincere and accepted.
